These are some of the most common questions I get asked about the bespoke ordering process. If your question is not answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

How does the process work?

The first step is to contact me here, with a brief outline of what you're thinking about in terms of accessories. I will respond to you as soon as possible. There are 2 options after this. The first one is to continue back and forth with emails, this has worked very well for many of my past clients. Others prefer the second option, which is to arrange an appointment for an online WhatsApp/ Zoom call for an initial consultation. There is no charge for this and you are under no obligation to proceed any further.

What happens next? 

Once we've had that initial conversation- whether it is via email or online Zoom/ WhatsApp call, where we discuss your ideas and vision for your dream accessory, if you are happy to have me go ahead and design something for you, then I will ask you for a non refundable 50% deposit. This books your order slot, and should you decide to cancel at any point, the deposit also helps to cover material costs, my time and the sending of bead samples through the post to you if required. The remaining 50% is payable upon completion of the order to your satisfaction.

I will then keep you regularly updated with progress emails and photos to ensure that you are happy with how the piece is progressing from beginning to end. It is very important to me that you are truly happy with the final piece or pieces so these updates are a vital part of the whole process.

What if I love your work but don't know what I want?

I am always happy to discuss your thoughts and ideas with you so if you are not sure what you want, just send me a message and we can arrange an online consultation or continue through email. I don't charge for this and you are under no obligation to take things any further.

Can you include elements from my mothers or grandmothers wedding accessories?

I have designed and made bespoke hair accessories and jewellery in the past which included things like fabric flowers from a vintage wedding dress, and flowers from a beloved mothers wedding hair accessory, so nothing is impossible! As always, just send me a message and we can take it from there.

Can you match the beads to my specific colours?

Yes, of course! I usually ask that if you can, to send a small sample of the fabric of your dress or a piece of ribbon in the colour of what you'll be wearing, or a small sample of what you want the colours matched up with. This is the best way to ensure accuracy.

Can you send bead samples?

Once you are happy to proceed with your order, and your deposit has been paid and cleared, then yes, I am happy to send bead samples through the post to you.

Can I make changes to my bespoke design?

It is not a problem to make some changes to your design or chosen materials during the design process- before I begin the construction of your order.

However, due to the complex nature of the techniques involved in making my designs, it is very difficult to make material changes once I've begun actual construction of the piece. The bulk of my designs are made using wire, and once wire has been woven into position, it cannot be untwisted and then reused.

For example, if you change your mind on colour scheme when I am halfway through your order, I would have to start the piece again, so in this instance, there would be a surplus charge for the extra time and materials needed.

How long will my order take?

If you are in the UK, I would advise that you allow 6-10 weeks for your bespoke order to be completed and sent to you, I know this feels like a long time but you are getting something made specifically for you and it is very important to me that you are truly delighted with your order when it arrives to you. It may take slightly less time than this, but it will largely depend on my current workload and time of year.

If you live outside the UK, please allow a minimum of 12 weeks.
